If you have tried several brands and nothing works, that could be an allergic reaction (water maybe). I suggest you visit a dermatologist and have it checked. Save yourself time and money from buying anti-dandruff shampoo that doesn't work. It may get worse so it's best to go to the specialist sunnych
Internal problems like kidney disease and diabetes can also cause dandruff. No need to panic. just consult a dermatologist.

I used to have flaky scalp because of dandruff. My grandmother would always put on coconut oil onto my scalp. It helped eliminate dandruff and made my hair softer. That's one home remedy for recurring dandruff.

I just read about dandruff prevention and treatment over the net and you can try this to see if it helps...
Dandruff Prevention And Treatment
1. Shampoo. Use shampoo everyday. Let it stay on your scalp for 5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. According to experts alternating shampoo after every wash maybe more effective.
2. Avoid Stress. This may help you avoid dandruff
3. Avoid Chemical Treatments. Avoid using hair products that are chemically based such as hair sprays and pomades
4. Diet. Observe a healthy and balanced diet
5. Sun. It's observed that occurence of dandruff is lesser in summer which could mean that sunlight may be good for treating dandruff.

There actually are several types and brands of shampoos that you can use that will not cause you dry scalp thus causing dandruff. You just need to try and test which one works for you better. I shampoo everyday and I don't get dandruff.
