Most women who suffer with stretch marks actively search for a way to remedy this invasive problem. Statistics show that a large percentage of women suffer with stretch marks. And that the best way to avoid stretch marks is to search for the common causes.

Stretchmark Causes

A woman's body goes through a lot of significant changes through the course of her life. During the teen years many young women experience a quick growth spurt that leaves them with stretch marks on their body, arms, and legs. This might of happened to you and many of your friends. Wouldn't you know it. During the most critical time in a young teens life they not only have to suffer acne, awkwardness, peer pressure, and yes stretchmarks. This is like a shock to the young teens system. The teens skin is not prepared to compensate for such rapid growth.

Later on in life when many women decide to lose a few pounds they are rewarded with weight loss and stretchmarks. Losing weight too fast is the culprit in this case. That's one good reason to lose weight slowly! And certainly many women notice stretchmarks after pregnancy. And each pregnancy produces more stretchmarks. And women who lift weights on a regular basis find that they develop stretchmarks due to the constant skin stretching exercises.

Avoiding Stretchmarks

The key to avoiding stretchmarks is to keep the weight under control. Sounds easy? Don't think so. It takes strong determination to keep weight under control. But it can be accomplished with strong motivation.

Researchers also recommend that pregnant women or women trying to lose weight use a daily moisturizer on the body to keep skin nourished and supple thus avoiding stretchmarks.

I've had stretchmarks since I was in my teen years. I have always been a chubby girl eversince so I don't really know what causes my stretchmarks. But, this one is a nice idea that I might try to help me eliminate some stretchmarks.

Really? That's too bad. Keep applying moisturizers on the affected area and I'm sure that some of that stretch marks will be minimized :)
